Voice and recording
What it means to listen to the Bible with a cloned voice
Understand what cloning reproduces and what you should not attribute to narration generated by artificial intelligence.

A cloned voice is a synthetic voice created from an audio sample. The system can produce new sentences with characteristics of that sample's timbre. It does not mean that the person recorded those sentences or approves of their content. In Vox, this technology is used to generate narration of Tanakh texts in Hebrew, English, and Spanish.
The sample and the text serve different functions
The recording serves as a voice reference. The written passage supplies the words that are narrated. This is why a short sample can lead to a new recording with different content. Cartesia documents instant cloning and recommendations on quality and language.
Vox limits the sample recording to 10 seconds. That application limit should not be presented as the provider's universal maximum or as a guarantee of an identical result for everyone.
A familiar timbre is not an original reading
Even if the voice sounds recognizable, pronunciation, pauses, and rhythm may vary. Cloning does not automatically reproduce knowledge of Hebrew, cantillation, or a religious interpretation. If a word matters for your study, compare it with the text and a specialized reference.
Do not label a synthesized file as a historical recording or an authentic reading by the person. Keeping its origin visible avoids misunderstandings within the family or in any shared use.
Consent and expectations before starting
Use your own voice or a voice you have permission to use. Clarify the purpose and limits of use before uploading or recording a sample. Having technical access to an audio recording does not imply authorization to clone it.
After creating the voice in My Voice, check a passage in the listening room and review the length your balance allows. The technology offers a personalized way to engage with the text, not a promise of absolute accuracy or a replacement for the written text as a study reference.
